Synopsis The hunting scenes and the aftermath, are the most revealing and affecting. The group target and spear a giraffe with a poisoned dart or two, and then follow her. Despite passing hordes of wildlife, they are destined to hunt the giraffe and are bound by the rules of San hunting where once an animal is targeted, it must be pursued regardless of other opportunities. Throughout this process, the viewer is enlightened by the deep respect that the hunters attribute to their prey which are in fact revered spirits, and worshipped as such. As each part of the animal is used fat, bone, meat, and skin non-San people begin to question how we regard our food sources and the land, and methods of human dominance over nature for our own purposes.
